FOUNDER
CATHERINE J. BURKS
Catherine J. Burks is a leading cybersecurity professional and trusted advisor on cybersecurity, privacy, risk management, critical infrastructure protection, and security program development. She has over 25 years of national and international experience managing cybersecurity systems and applications.
As the President of CJB Enterprises, Catherine is a certified cybersecurity professional advising various organizations on cyber risk management and reduction strategies. She provides organizations with assessments on data and application security and analyses of the security risks of emerging technologies.
As an avid community leader, Catherine leads a component of CJB Enterprises that is focused on introducing youth and young adults to the cybersecurity profession. With a mission to increase the number of Black cybersecurity professionals, Catherine serves as a mentor to youth and adults pursuing careers and business opportunities in the field of cybersecurity.
Catherine is a sought-after speaker on cybersecurity issues. She is an engaging presenter with audiences at schools, community facilities, companies, organizations, and churches where she shares her expertise on data security, privacy, and career opportunities in cybersecurity.
Catherine earned a master’s degree in Christian studies from Union University, an MBA from Webster University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and Information Technology from Park University. She holds numerous cybersecurity certifications including CompTIA Security+ and SANS-Global Information Assurance Certification-Security Leadership (GLSC).
